Benefit fundraiser dinner party and movie screening in Portland

Voter Power in conjunction with Scoot for Dignity are hosting a pre-Halloween dinner party, with a special sneak preview showing of The Green Goddess, a work-in-progress cannabis movie.
Friday, October 28th, 6pm
The dinner party and movie screening are a benefit fundraiser for Voter Power and Scoot for Dignity.

Voter Power would love to see you at this very special night.  Please RSVP if possible by sending an email to chris1@voterpower.org or just come on down the night of the dinner.

Scoot for Dignity is a journey begun by two courageous women who will scoot across the entire state of Oregon on medical scooters being followed by a clean burning biodiesel support vehicle to bring awareness to the nationwide issues of medical cannabis and equal access for the physically challenged.

Scoot for Dignity will begin from Portland in the spring of 2007 directly after the Million Marijuana March and will scoot along the I-5 corridor stopping in many places along the way to educate people to the uses of hemp, medical cannabis and the need for better access for the physically challenged.

The Green Goddess is a comedy-drama feature film made in Europe.  Three young Americans venture to Switzerland to farm a huge field of marijuana in order to raise enough money to free their friend who was busted for growing ganja back in the United States.

Having just enough money for one planting season our heroes rent out an old Swiss farm where they proceed to grow the strongest and tastiest buds they can.  Their adventures take them across Europe to a trance festival in Germany, a medical marijuana clinic in London and the coffee-shops of Amsterdam.

As the beautiful ganja ripens for harvest it must overcome the threat of fierce storms, destruction by flame throwers and capture by the Swiss Police.  And while all this is happening the Green Goddess - the divine feminine spirit that lives within the THC crystal - watches over them, choosing one lucky individual to meet her.

The trailer for the movie can be seen at the Green Goddess website www.greengoddess.info

The movie is a work-in-progress and you will be getting a sneak preview.  Normally you would never see a feature film before it is done but since Chris Iverson, the Director of Voter Power produced this film, you will be able to see it before it is finished.  The film is now over 80 minutes in length with a few missing scenes, some of the sound work missing and the special effects not quite finished.

Chris will be talking more about The Green Goddess and Voter Power throughout the evening.
